Furniture PackagesIt used to be that almost all the Disney area properties we sold came already fully furnished and completely equipped with everything you would need for short term rentals, so that as soon as you bought the property, you wouldn't miss a beat with renting out your property. Many of the properties we sell are still sold fully furnished, but since early 2009, it is a sign of the times that many of the properties that are now for sale are bank owned foreclosures, which usually come completely unfurnished and in need of some care and attention to get the property back to a condition where someone would be happy renting it.
If you are considering buying one of these vacation homes, but are put off because of the hassle of furnishing and equipping to the required short term rental standard, don't despair. We have contacts with local furniture companies who are experienced in the special business of totally fitting out vacation homes with everything you need. Remember that anything you spend to improve or repair your short term rental property is tax deductible! Package prices can vary, depending on the company you choose and how extravagant your tastes in upgrades, but an average would be around $15,000 to $25,000 for absolutely everything you need for a short term rental, delivered and totally set up. You may be tempted to try and buy your furniture and housewares from various different stores and then set everything up yourself. Our past experience with buyers who have done that (almost all our buyers live thousands of miles away) shows this to be a very time consuming, energy draining exercise, fraught with hassles and often no cheaper in the long run. Why not trust your new investment to the experts who do this for a living!
